No. Despite the name, sports massage is not only for athletes.
Many clients attend for support with general muscular tension, posture-related discomfort, or movement restriction caused by everyday activities such as work, training, or prolonged sitting.
Sports massage techniques are simply designed to work with the musculoskeletal system, helping to improve tissue quality, mobility, and recovery.

First session: allow up to 80 minutes (includes consultation and assessment).
Follow-up sessions: 60 minutes in total, including consultation and 45 minutes hands-on. -
Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being treated (e.g. shorts for lower body, vest or sports bra for upper body).
Modesty and professional draping are maintained at all times. -
Treatment may require access to the area being worked on. Depending on the treatment area, you may be asked to remove certain items of clothing.
Appropriate draping and professional standards are always maintained to ensure comfort, privacy, and professionalism throughout the session.
Clients are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and may remain as clothed as is practical for the treatment being performed.

Yes. After booking and payment, you will receive a short pre-session intake form.
This allows your therapist to review relevant information before you attend, ensuring your time in clinic is used efficiently. -
Sports massage therapy is not a medical or diagnostic service.
If symptoms suggest a condition requiring medical investigation, referral to an appropriate healthcare professional will be advised

Treatment intensity is always discussed and agreed during the session.
Some techniques may feel firm or uncomfortable, but communication is continuous and pressure adjusted accordingly. -
Acute injuries (within the first 72 hours of onset) are not treated with massage techniques.
